Tucked away in the hills above Budva, Drenovštica Canyon is a hidden gem known for its raw beauty and thrilling terrain. Starting in the village of Krapina, your adventure begins with a safety briefing and gear fitting, followed by a short drive and short walk to the canyon entrance.
What follows is a 3-hour journey through a spectacular natural playground filled with towering cliffs, rocky waterfalls (some up to 15 meters), and deep emerald pools. With your expert guide by your side, you’ll:
- Jump into fresh water pools
- Abseil down rugged canyon walls
- Scramble over boulders and slippery rocks
- Swim through narrow passages and natural rock formations
The canyon stays filled with water year-round, but in summer, it’s warm enough to enjoy in lightweight gear. When conditions call for it, neoprene suits are provided. After completing the canyon route, a short uphill walk (about 20 minutes) will bring you back to the starting point.
This experience blends the thrill of adventure with Montenegro’s untamed beauty—and it's open year-round for those brave enough to dive in!

Things to know
Important information
- You’ll need good physical condition for this activity. No canyoning experience is required
- Do not wear sandals, flip-flops, or indoor shoes
- Tour involves hiking over rocky terrain and through water. Bring your own suitable sneakers for rocky terrain and water
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

- Certified canyoning guide

- Bottled water and snacks
- Helmet, dry bag, and rappelling equipment
- Neoprene suit (if needed due to water level in spring and autumn)
- Tour photos and videos
- Sneakers for canyoning (we recommend outdoor running sneakers)

What to bring
- Comfortable outdoor shoes that can get wet (ideally outdoor running shoes)
- Quick-dry clothing or layers you don’t mind getting wet
- Change of clothes for after the tour
- Towel

- People over 100 kg (220 lbs) or 55 years
- People with back problems or serious health conditions
- People with low fitness or mobility impairments
- People with heart conditions, epilepsy, vertigo, or fear of heights

Ivana took us on an incredible excursion. It was a perfect day, I’d never been canyoning before and it was thrilling and the nature was beautiful. I’m not super outdoorsy but it was accessible and a great way to be in nature. I really recommend this experience.

Ivana is a lovely canyon tour guide, with good instructions. For me it was the first time and had an amazing experience. She looked after us, guide us safely through the tour. The surroundings were beautifull, you became one with nature for sure and the variety of nature was amazing🙏 an experience you cannot miss in Budva!
