Budva Old Town

The Citadel (Fortress) is located at he southern tip of the town. For €5.50, you gain access to the ramparts, a small maritime library, and a museum of ship models. The view from the top overlooking Sveti Nikola Island is the best in town. For 2€, you can walk the full perimeter of the town walls, which gives you different perspectives and a peek into the private courtyards of the residents

Unlike Kotor, which still feels like a residential town, Budva's Old Town is almost 100% commercialized. Almost every ground floor is a restaurant or a souvenir shop selling generic magnets and beachwear

There is a small gate called Murava Gate near the Poet’s Square. It leads directly to Ričardova Glava Beach, a tiny pebbled strip right under the fortress walls where you can swim with a view of the ramparts. When it gets too busy in summer, walk the coastal path to Mogren Beach which is a larger beach with cliffs in the background
