Durmitor National Park

The park is home to numerous glacial lakes, including the famous Black Lake (Crno Jezero). The water is deep, dark, and clear enough to see the reflection of the Medjed peak perfectly. There is an easy and flat circular trail around the lake that you can complete in ~1.5h

Entrance to the park is €5 per person per day. If you are staying for 3+ days, ask for the €13.50 annual pass (valid for all 5 National Parks in Montenegro)

Popular activities in the park include rafting (from April to October), skiing (from January to March), hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, rock climbing, and paragliding. All these activities can be organized from Žabljak, the park's gateway town

The region is a paradise for hiker and offers numerous well-marked hiking trails for all levels. One of the simplest starts is the Ivan Do parking near Žabljak and proceeds to Katun Lokvice (basic shelter is available there). From there, you can go on a side trip to Ledena Pećina, a small cave filled with ice stalactites and stalagmites (3h round trip) or on a climb to the park’s highest peak, Bobotov Kuk (2,523m), an 8-hour round trip that provides the most breathtaking views of the Durmitor
