Morača Monastery

The monastery is definitely worth a stop if you are on your way to Kolašin or the Tara Canyon and is famous for its frescoes. The external frescoes of the Church of the Assumption are the work of Djordje Mitrofanović, a celebrated master. The complex includes a well-maintained garden courtyard filled with hydrangeas, roses, and bees from the monks’ hives. This serene setting offers a peaceful retreat for visitors. You will also find a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs, religious items, and local products like honey and Rakia, a local fruit spirit

Despite its historical significance, Morača Monastery remains an active religious site with a small community of monks. You are expected to dress modestly and respect the monastic atmosphere
