Niagara Falls

These waterfalls may not be the thundering cascades found in North America, but they make for a great day trip from Podgorica. The 10min drive from Podgorica requires a car as there is no public transport going there. The area is a popular swimming spot for locals

Best time to visit is in spring, especially in March or April, or after a rainy day when the waterfalls are most impressive. The waterfall is known to dry up towards the end of summer, losing much of its charm. The dry period reveals the waterfall's man-made origins, as it was constructed 150 years ago to power a water mill​
