The cathedral is one of the best-preserved buildings in Kotor and the views from the top of the cathedral offer a different perspective over the square

There is a €4 entrance fee (cash only) to visit the cathedral. The ticket combines the main sanctuary and the upstairs museum/treasury

Did you know?

The cathedral's namesake, St. Tryphon, was a 3rd-century martyr from modern-day Turkey. Legend says his relics were being shipped to Venice in 809 AD, but a storm forced the ship to seek refuge in Kotor; the locals took this as a divine sign that the Saint wanted to stay, so they bought the relics and have kept them there for over 1,200 years.
