Sveti Nikola Island

Water taxi boats run every 30 minutes from the Budva Marina and Slovenska Plaža. A round-trip ticket costs €5–€7. Keep your ticket! You’ll need it to get back

Social media makes it look like a sandy paradise. It is not sand. It is made of medium-to-large pebbles that are hard to walk on. Sea shoes are highly recommended here!

The island is just 2km-long, but it’s got a surprising amount to explore. Beaches dominate the southern corner of the island, while the interior is much wilder. There is a circular hiking trail on the island leading to a small lighthouse and offering stunning coastal views

The southern beach called Hawaii beach is commercialised with a couple of bars & restaurants, and relatively expensive sunbeds. If you want peace and quiet, ask a boat to bring you to the wild beaches on the eastern side of the island. There are no amenities and barely any shade, but you'll likely be the only one there
