Ulcinj stands out from its northern counterparts with its distinctive Eastern feel, which is unsurprising given that over 60%+ of the population is Albanian. Turkish-style houses cluster around the bay and the town boasts 26 mosques. The Sailors’ Mosque, an imposing stone building on the waterfront, displays intriguing frescoes inside. Three minutes up the road, the Pasha’s Mosque stands as an elegant complex with an attached hammam.
