Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër)

Since the area was renovated, you can no longer drive all the way to the spring. You must park at the entrance (3€ for 3 hours) and walk about 2km (20–30 minutes) along a paved but unshaded boulevard. If you don't want to walk in the heat, you can rent an electric scooter (~€5/hour) or take the tourist train (~€3 one-way). These scooters can go fast and people regularly fall, so don't go too crazy

Arrive at 8:00 AM sharp. By 10:30 AM, buses from Saranda and Ksamil arrive, and the area becomes a circus. Recent renovations have turned a once-wild hidden gem into a highly commercialized "nature park"

You can also rent kayaks for 10€ / person mid-way through the walk to the Blue Eye. It's a nice way to explore the lake and see everything from a different perspective

There is a small metal balcony directly over the eye. This is the spot for the aerial view of the depth, but be prepared to wait your turn and be shoulder-to-shoulder to take your picture

While social media shows people jumping in, it is technically prohibited (though poorly enforced). It is a protected site, please respect the rules
