Komani Lake

Whether you take the car ferry (Berisha or Alpin) or the smaller passenger boats, you’ll glide through steep limestone cliffs, deep turquoise waters, and remote mountain scenery similar to Norwegian fjords. It serves as a breathtaking 2.5-hour "liquid highway" for travelers moving between Shkodër and Fierzë

The main ferries depart Koman at 9:00 AM sharp. If you miss it, your day is ruined. The return ferry from Fierzë departs at 1:00 PM. A passenger ticket is roughly €10–€15. Boarding is not organized. Expect a chaotic rush of people and suitcases

The 2-hour drive from Shkodër to the Koman dam is notorious. It is a potholed, winding, partially unpaved mess. Do not drive a rental car here unless it’s a rugged SUV. Most travelers take a pre-arranged "furgon" (minibus) from Shkodër for about €10 which leave early in the morning (6:00-7:00AM)

To reach the ferry, you must pass through a narrow, dark, one-way tunnel. It is chaotic. If you are driving yourself, park before the tunnel in the paid lot (approx. €5) and walk through, as there is almost no room to turn around at the pier
