Llogara Pass

As of late 2024/early 2025, the Llogara Tunnel is fully operational. It cuts the journey from Vlorë to Palasë from 45 minutes of winding roads down to about 5-7 minutes. If you want the views, do not take the tunnel. Follow the signs for "Llogara National Park" to stay on the old road. Most heavy traffic now uses the tunnel, making the actual Pass much quieter and more enjoyable to drive.

The panoramic viewpoint is located at the very peak. It’s the spot where the mountainside drops nearly vertically into the sea. On a clear day, you can see the Greek island of Corfu and the Italian coastline across the Strait of Otranto

Despite being a major road, it is a grazing area. It is very common to find a herd of goats or cows standing in the middle of a blind hairpin turn. Drive slowly

Several restaurants (like Llogara Tourist Village) have fenced areas with semi-wild fallow deer. You can usually buy a bag of corn for a few cents to feed them (a great distraction for kids after a long car ride!)

A hiking trail starting near the visitor center that follows the supposed path Julius Caesar took during his civil war with Pompey. It leads to incredible views that most people miss
