You don't need a car to visit Shiroka. There is a scenic, mostly flat bike path from Shkodër. Renting a bike in the city center (€5–€10) allows you to stop at small, secluded rocky beaches along the way that cars can't reach

Shiroka is a tranquil lakeside village located just 4 kilometers from Shkodër, recently transformed into a vibrant cultural hub with a striking, geometric-patterned promenade that acts as the "balcony" of Lake Shkodra
The royal villa in Shiroka was not only the playground of King Zog in the 1930s but was later used as a luxury retreat for the Communist elite during the dictatorship. It was one of the few places in the country where Enver Hoxha’s inner circle could enjoy the "bourgeois" view of the lake in total isolation from the public.
